The LeadGen AI agent operates on a spectrum between maximum volume and maximum precision. Understanding when to use each is key.
The trade-off
- High volume / low precision: more accounts, lower match scores, lower reply rate per touch
- Low volume / high precision: fewer accounts, higher match scores, better reply rate per touch
ROI math: 1,000 accounts at 2% reply = 20 replies. 200 accounts at 8% reply = 16 replies. Precision approach uses 80% less capacity for nearly the same result.
Use precision when
- Team bandwidth for replies is limited
- Selling high-ACV product where each conversation matters
- Industry where reputation is critical
- Still calibrating messaging (early motion)
Use volume when
- ICP has high market availability
- Sequence is proven with stable reply rates
- Team has capacity for more replies
- On Suite or Scale plan with higher follow-up capacity
Platform controls
In campaign ICP settings: Match threshold slider (right = precision, left = volume) and Daily sourcing volume (how many new accounts added per day). Start: threshold 65, sourcing 20–30 accounts/day. Adjust weekly.
